John Freeman (born 1974 in Cleveland, Ohio) is a writer and literary critic. He is the founder and editor of the new semi-annual literary magazine Freeman's and the author of The Tyranny of E-mail: The Four-Thousand Year Journey to Your Inbox, How to Read a Novelist, Dictionary of the Undoing, The Loneliest Shark in the Sea and the collection of songs Maps and Park. He is the editor of Tales of Two Cities: The Best and Worst of Times in Today's New York. He was the editor of Granta, the magazine of new literary voices, the president of the National Association of Critics and the main moderator of the first BiH. of the Bookstan literary festival. He is the executive editor of Literary Hub and a lecturer at the New School in New York.
