Almir Bašović, born in 1971 in Sarajevo. Graduated, obtained a master's and doctorate at the Faculty of Philosophy in Sarajevo, where he teaches as a full professor at the Department of Comparative Literature and Information Sciences. He is a permanent associate at Academy of Performing Arts Sarajevo. He has published over a hundred scientific papers, professional articles, essays and reports in the country and abroad. He is the author of the books: Čehov i prostor, Maske dramskog subjekta, Kalemi i biljezi, and Andrićev skriveni teatar. He wrote five plays, published in the book Četiri i po drame. His plays have been translated into eleven languages, and performed in Sarajevo, Zenica, Vienna, Brno, Belgrade, Tuzla and Skopje. He received awards for the best drama at the theater festivals in Jajce and Zenica. He received the Kočićevo pero award for the book Četiri i po drame. For his pedagogical and scientific work at ASU Sarajevo, he received the award Dr. Razija Lagumdžija. He is a member of the Society of Writers and PEN Center in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He edited the literary magazine Život.
