Alena Ćatović

Alena Catović (1975) was born in Sarajevo, where she graduated in 1997 in Turkish language and literature and Arabic language and literature at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Sarajevo, and in 2002 she obtained her master's degree in Turkish literature at Bilkent University in Ankara. She defended her doctoral dissertation at the Faculty of Philosophy in Sarajevo in 2009. Since 2000, she has been employed at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Sarajevo, Department of Turkish Language and Literature, Department of Oriental Philology, and since 2019 she has been a full professor. In the period from 2012 to 2018, she was engaged as a visiting professor at the Department of Turkology, Faculty of Philosophy, University of Zagreb, Croatia. She published a total of nine books (scientific, professional and edited), about fifty scientific papers, and nine literary translations.
