Dragan Velikić (Belgrade, 1953) grew up in Pula, and today lives in Belgrade as a freelance writer. He is the author of numerous novels, including Via PulaDanteov trgRuski prozor (NIN Award and "Meša Selimović" Award), Islednik (NIN Award), and the latest - Bečki roman (2024). He also writes essays, stories, interviews and monographs, and his works have been translated into 18 European languages, Arabic and Farsi ​​and published in over 90 editions. He is the recipient of the Danube and Central Europe Institute Award from Vienna (2008), the Budapest City Award (2013), the European Vilenica Award (2019), and the Trepetalo from Trogir (2024). He is an honorary member of the Hungarian Academy of Arts and Literature "Secénji".
