Amila Smajović (Sarajevo, 1964) is a Bosnian graphic designer, visual artist and researcher of traditional design. She graduated and received her master's degree from the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo, and her doctorate in communication studies from the Faculty of Political Sciences, with a thesis on the Bosnian carpet as a communication symbol. She is the author of a series of exhibitions and projects that connect traditional ornamentation and contemporary design. She has won more than twenty awards, and is the founder of a workshop and the Association for the Protection of the Bosnian Carpet. She has published numerous professional texts, co-authored several publications, and participated in international festivals and conferences. She taught at IUS (2010–2015) and was the president of ULUPUBiH (2019–2023). Since 2024, she has been the art director of the company Unikod and teaches at the American Northwest University of Health Science and Technology.
