Milorad Mijo Popović (Lipa Cucka, near Cetinje, 1957) has published several poetry collections, including Sa trga glodara, So Jude, Nesigurna zemlja, Raskrsća and Agnostik i nebo. His poetry has been translated into more than twenty languages ​​and is represented in numerous anthologies, and he is the winner of several significant awards, including the "Risto Ratković" award and "Miroslavljevo jevanđelje". He is also the author of a series of essays on national identity and the Montenegrin question, of which Montenegrin question has been translated into Bulgarian and Italian. He wrote the novels Karnera (Meša Selimović award), Čovjek bez lica (Njegoš' award) and Smrti se podvaljuje. The novel Karnera has been translated into Italian, Macedonian and Slovenian, and Čovjek bez lica into German. He is one of the founders of the magazine ARS, the founder of the Montenegrin PEN Centre and the president of the Montenegrin Society of Independent Writers. He is the director of the Open Cultural Forum (OKF) from Cetinje. He is the winner of the Thirteenth of July Award and the "Bosnian Stećak" award. He has the status of a prominent cultural creator of Montenegro.
