Branko Čegec (Kraljev Vrh near Vrbovac, Croatia, 1957) is a Croatian writer. He was the editor-in-chief of Quorum magazine (1985–1989), since 1993 he is the owner and editor of the publishing house Meandar (today Meandarmedia). Since 2004, he has been the editor-in-chief of the magazine Tema, and since 2018 he has been teaching at the Academy of Arts and Culture in Osijek. He is the author of poetry collections: Eros-Europa-Arafat, Zapadno-istočni spol, Melankolični ljetopis, Ekrani praznine, Tamno mjesto, Zapisi iz pustog jezika, Pun mjesec u Istanbulu, Cetinjski rukopis, and books of essays and criticisms: Presvlačenje avangarde, Fantom slobode, Pokret otpora, Talačka kriza. . Together with Miroslav Mićanović, he edited a panorama of Croatian poetry in the 1980s and 1990s - Strast razlike, tamni zvuk praznine. Čegec is a translator from the Slovenian language. He is the winner of the Goran's Wreath Award for his entire poetic work.
