Slobodan Blagojević (Sarajevo, 1951) writer, poet, essayist and translator, born in Sarajevo, where he received his education. In 1984, he stayed at New York University as a "poet in residence". He published six books of poetry, three books of essays and one book of philosophical prose. He also compiled two anthologies of Bosnian poetry. He translated the collected poems of Constantine Cavafy, as well as great selections from the poetry of Emily Dickinson, W. C. Williams, Marianne Moore, e. e. cummings, Robert Lowell and Frank O'Hara. He lived and worked in the Netherlands from 1992 to 2014, when he returned to Sarajevo. As an editor, he worked in numerous magazines, including Naši dani, Izraz, Delo and Erewhon. He is a corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
